Some people view life from an internal, and some from an external
perspective. The person with the internal perspective, believes that nothing is impossible,
in taking control of their own lives, they attribute successes to themselves,
they are proactive and entrepreneurial.
The person with an external perspective views life differently, they are
reactive, view themselves as victims of their environment, and have a tendency
to give up before they get started on any task, This leads to learned
helplessness and depression. they can wallow in self pity and generally feel
helpless.
Most people are at some point between these two extremes, but the more
internalist and proactive you are, taking control of your life the happier
you will be, and generally the more successful in all areas.
Those who have to rely on others to make them happy are frequently disappointed
and always living according to another's agenda. While the person who is
in control of their life and has a proactive and positive outlook will be
making things happen, and even if let down by others will know that they
have many other options and actions that they can take.
Many who experience stress and heart attacks, put it not down to
responsibility but the inability to resolve situations, or lack of
control. Sometimes a person with no responsibility but no future as they
see it, and from their perspective no ability to control their future will
be very depressed.
The objective therefore is the take control, have an internalist
viewpoint, and be as proactive as you can.
