Wand
The wand is our main tool, and this is made of a hard wood, and about 9.5 inches or 24cm long. Many are tapered so that they are thinner towards the active end and larger at the end that is held in the hand.
The wand is given as a present to the witch, when she undertakes the ritual to become a full witch. It is already empowered when you get it, you cannot empower it yourself, or match it to your frequency, and is then used to empower other wands and tools, as well as to create and vanish circles. The wand works by becoming the extension of your body and aura/energy field. You use it in a flicking motion that allows some of your energy to be flicked or fired. A wand is specific to a person and will only work for them, as it is set to their frequency.
Apprentices who wish to practice with a substitute should think of something like a chop stick, artists brush held by the metal around the bristle end or a music conductors baton. Some apprentices find that using a thin paint brush with water and practicing flicking it helps them to get the motion right. while energy from your wand will travel further than water from a brush, it helps to get a good aim. Energy that is fired from a wand and misses its target will not have any impact.
